No problem DJ. It's great to be able to talk to other camera enthusiasts. The 18-200mm that was recommended is good but you're gonna have to use a flash in low light conditions. That lens is designed to be more of a well-rounded all purpose lens. It does best in outdoors and taking landscape shots. It will probably take great photos but it's definitely not my first pick if price weren't a factor. If price were a factor, then yes... that lens is probably the most affordable auto focus portrait lens. I would also consider the Nikon 28-70mm f/2.8D ED-IF AF-S too. Hope that helped!
